Mornings should be reserved for important tasks, not necessarily urgent ones.
Most of our day time is spent in doing tasks that are Urgent . Urgent tasks keep demanding our time & attention so much that we keep postponing tasks that may not be urgent, but are really important.
Important tasks may not have immediate deadlines but are no less vital .Tasks such as taking care of our health, acquiring new knowledge & skills, building up relationships are examples of important tasks that contribute significantly to our long term goals & over all well being.

The Morning Routine
Incorporate the important tasks into a structured morning routine. Our Brain loves routine. When you do certain tasks consistently for a certain period of time, those tasks become a habit and fall into a regular routine. Begin your Morning with following tasks.
First thing in the morning tasks :
Deep Breathing : Begin your day with Deep , Diaphragmatic Breathing. Deep Breathing is the best medium to connect with Body. Deep breathing not only improves Blood Circulation, it also helps in reducing Anxiety, Stress & improving Focus.
Drink Water : Drink a glass of water . Water rehydrates body , increases alertness, fuels Brain & improves Metabolism
Exercise : Connect with your Body . Morning Exercise is essential for better upkeep and maintenance of Muscles, Bones & organs of body. Regular Exercise increases Longevity, Improves Blood Circulation, Enhances Mood by stimulating secretion of Endorphins .
Pray : Connect with God. Prayer gives us peace , hope, courage & strength, which results in better mental & emotional health. God grants us serenity to accept things that we can not change, courage to change things that we can and wisdom to know the difference.
Meditation & Mindfulness : Practice Meditation / Mindfulness & connect with your Mind & Spirit. Meditation improves Focus, Concentration & Memory , enhances Cognitive & Emotional intelligence & reduces Stress & Anxiety.
Spend time in Nature : Connect with nature. look at the Morning Sun, Sky , Birds . Inhale the earthy smell of Soil, plants & flowers. Sit in a garden / open balcony and soak in sun. Nature has great soothing & healing power.
Positive Affirmations : Indulge in positive self talk. Repeat positive affirmations with strong belief that these will materialise in due course.
Visualise & Manifest : Connect with your future self. Visualise yourself what you want to be , in near or distant future. Feel the joy & excitement . Visualise yourself working on the action plan to reach your goal. Do it with Intent & strong belief. Your sub- conscious mind & Universe will get into action to take you there.
Plan Your Day : Plan the urgent / Imp tasks for the day. Visualise yourself completing the tasks successfully, without distractions and in a flow state of mind.
Read : Reading is to mind what food is to body. regular reading keeps us updated and helps us grow in Life.
Express Gratitude : Never forget to enjoy what you have. feel happy and express gratitude for all the good things, small or big , that happen to you in your daily life. The more you express gratitude , the more you attract good things in life.
Breakfast with Family : Eating together with family provides an opportunity to connect & communicate with each other – all together. A Mindful breakfast with Family acts as energy booster – physically & emotionally.
Finding time in hectic morning schedule
On the face of it, it looks difficult to find time for all this in our hectic morning scheduIe.
But, its all a matter of priorities. Once we prioritise these tasks, we will find time . We need to realise that these tasks are as important as other routine morning tasks .Actually, these tasks are the driving force behind all other tasks that we do during the day.
No matter how busy you are, don’t you find time to fill fuel in your car or charge your mobile phone.
This Morning routine will give your Body & Mind the power to be in a peak state of productivity through the day.
Beginning is half done
Beginning is the hardest part of a task. If you find it difficult to get out of bed in the morning, try this
- Before going to bed the night before, tell yourself that you have to get up at 6 A.M. in the morning. Sleep with resolve that you will get up at 6 A.M.
- When the alarm rings, count backwards from 5 to 1. Jump out of bed at the count of 1. This is called the 5 Second Rule.
- Start small. Take up 1 task at a time & gradually keep adding on . Start with 10 minutes and gradually increase the time.
Conclusion
Morning is the most crucial part of the day. Both Our conscious & sub conscious mind are fresh & most receptive at this time of day. Nature is also at its freshest. This is the best time to connect.
